Blue Hour Pants - Kakishibu

DETAILS

Loose fit 5-pocket jeans constructed from a combination of Japanese sashiko and four different Japanese denim fabrics. The garment is based on a light faded indigo finish, then hand-dyed multiple times with naturally fermented kakishibu persimmon tannin by an experienced natural dye artisan. Repeated dyeing and drying over the remaining indigo creates a deep, rough-toned finish with natural variation throughout each pair.

The fabric mix combines sashiko with denim inspired by vintage workwear references from the 1950s and 1980s, allowing each material to fade and age differently over time. Kakishibu dyeing initially gives the fabric a firmer texture that softens gradually through wear and washing.

Made with Japanese sashiko, denim, twill lining, threads, buttons, and rivets. Finished with Union Special 43200G hemming.

Due to the hand-dyeing process, color inconsistency, uneven tones, and individual variation are expected. Some natural dye scent or color transfer may occur initially and will fade with light washing.

CARE

Machine wash cold separately. Avoid high heat drying. Frequent washing or tumble drying may result in up to 1cm of additional shrinkage over time.

Measurements are taken flat in centimeters and may vary by 1–2cm depending on measurement method.
