KIBATA is a denim-centric brand launched in 2024 in Seoul by Director Dongmin Choi. The brand name is derived from a Japanese term meaning "fabric freshly woven from a loom.” KIBATA primarily uses fabrics it produces in-house, reinterpreting traditional Japanese techniques such as Sashiko and Kasuri in a modern context. The brand also incorporates hand-dyeing processes using natural materials like indigo to create its unique, deep color tones and textures.
