DETAILS
This piece is made from Kashiko base fabric with a bleach finishing process applied to create a faded effect. The treatment is intended to reflect natural aging and wear over time.
Kashiko is a proprietary fabric combining Kasuri and Sashiko techniques. It is woven using kasuri yarn in a sashiko construction. The warp uses indigo-dyed yarn produced on 1970s-era spinning machines to reflect the aesthetic of that period. The weft uses kasuri yarn with a gradient of approximately six colors ranging from white to black. The result is a 12oz fabric with a soft drape and comfortable wear.
Kasuri is a weaving technique that creates patterns using yarns dyed at different stages. It is recorded to have originated during the 12th–13th century Ryukyu Kingdom period and later spread throughout mainland Japan from the 17th century onward.
Fabric and hardware are sourced from Japan, including 100% cotton Kashiko and twill fabrics, along with Japanese core and cotton threads, finished with Japanese buttons and rivets.
Product features include a 5-pocket work pants structure, original fabric development, loose fit silhouette, light fade finish, and Kansai Special hemming.
CARE
Measurements are taken flat in centimeters and may vary by 1–2cm depending on measurement method. The garment is pre-finished to reduce shrinkage, though repeated washing or tumble drying may still result in up to approximately 1cm of additional shrinkage.
