Shunko — Indigo (Bootcut)

DETAILS

Bootcut 5-pocket jeans crafted from Shunko, an original 13.6oz 100% cotton Japanese denim built around extreme irregularity and texture. Super heavy slub yarns create dramatic variation within a single thread — sections differing in thickness by more than tenfold — producing a highly expressive surface distinct from conventional denim. Different yarn counts are combined between warp and weft for added depth and dimensionality.

Woven at low tension, the fabric develops pronounced texture and softness with wear and washing, gaining more definition over time. More than twenty types of cotton and cotton core threads — varying in thickness and tone — are selectively applied throughout the garment. As each thread ages differently, the piece develops layered fading unique to the wearer. Finished with Union Special 43200G hemming and Japanese-made buttons and rivets.

CARE

Wash cold, hang dry. Avoid high heat and tumble drying. This denim has been pre-washed to stabilize most initial shrinkage, though an additional 2–3cm of shrinkage may occur depending on washing and drying conditions. The garment may feel slightly fitted initially and will relax with wear.
